This place is as close to Spain as it could possibly be! I've been to Spain numerous of times and miss the desserts there! Everything here is made so well and so delicious. Such a cute cafe! I stop in whenever I'm around as much as I can even just to take home a little snack for later!

Don't know how I missed writing a review for Madrid in the 5-6 years I've been frequenting this little slice of Europe in Providence. Freshly made bakeries and sweets, hand crafted coffees and teas, and quintessential Parisian style seating inside and out. Favorites (aside from their sweets case) include their chocolate hazelnut and almond croissants.

I walked 1 mile to this shop, totally worth it! So many choices of fancy pastries. After enjoying this yummy delicious cream puff, I am going to get more to take back to my son and his girlfriend. Cream puff $2.50 Meringue $2.50 Filled croissant $7 Enjoy your sweet dessert y'all!

This is probably my favorite bakery. It is pretty pricey, but it's worth it. When I lived closer, I would regularly get a cappuccino and chocolate filled croissant or the apple slice pastries for breakfast. All those items are amazing for the sweet version of breakfast. Additionally, I think that Madrid has the best cake in all of Providence. I love their slices of Chocolate cake. I've never inquired about a full cake, which is probably for the best because I would eat too much of it. Other non breakfast pastries are also amazing. There are so many cream filled items, and they do a great job with the cream. In general, the service is pretty fast because they have multiple employees at the counter. You can also see into part of the kitchen, which is fun. There are a lot of small indoor tables, and usually 3 or 4 small outdoor tables. The location is lovely to sit inside or outside, as the store front is all glass.

The Madrid European Bakery is a delightful and delicious coffee shop filled with pastries and other handmade desserts. They do have a full coffee bar and lots of indoor seating in an upscale restaurant. It's a great place to meet for something special. There are a handful of outdoor tables which are always full because Madrid is super popular. It really does have a great vibe to sit outside enjoying people watching at Wayland Square while enjoying your pastry. I just spent $20 on four take home pastries, no drink, but they are quite large! I go at least a few times per month and highly recommend!

Madrid European Bakery and Patisserie is located on Wayland Ave in Providence, RI. The bakery is very inviting. There is seating outside and inside. The doors are wide open. Service is quick and there are always customers. I ordered their Chai Latte, vanilla san marcos, and chocolate ganache and raspberry bombon the first time. I wasn't too impressed with the pastries so I thought I would give it another chance. The second time I had their pastel vasco, lime w/santiago, and butter croissant. My favorite from the second time was the pastel vasco. It was very light. The butter croissant was very flaky and fresh. The lime santiago was a bit too limey for me. Both times my order came out to be a little over $20.00.

--Location/Parking-- Great little café/bakery hidden on Wayland Ave. Parking looks to be street parking on residential street. Location is east of downtown Providence. --Ambience-- Cute bakery with open spacing and plenty of tables. The pastries and breads are made fresh and the crowd on a Sunday morning shows the vibrance of the neighborhood. --Service/Staff-- The staff was friendly and helped with the order quickly, which could have quickly led to a long line. They were efficient in getting people order and preparing their order without any chaos. I commend the staff for the small space to make it efficient for everyone without feeling like a long wait for your drinks or food. --Food/Products-- I got two items, one savory and one sweet. I choose the recommend sweet which was a pineapple flavored pastry recommended by the staff. I love that it was flakey and flavorful with a burned center piece. The croissant was buttery and flakey and was one of the best butter crispy croissant I had in a while. --Capacity-- There were outdoor and indoor seating. The outdoor seating had 4-5 tables for a party of two. Indoor seating there were several that could possible fit 15 or so parties or 2-3 people. --Overall-- Recommended if you are in the area for their bakery items and their coffee.
